Thanks for your thoughtful comments, Mukundarajan. I don’t think we should assume that any culture is superior under any circumstance — that is a very slippery slope. My stance is that there is always something we can learn from different cultures, both good and bad.

I think your theory about the relationship between population decline and technology is interesting and worth looking into. And I wholeheartedly agree that we should not blindly embrace tech as the silver bullet solution to anything — especially climate change. We must first and foremost remember that we are part of nature. I personally think we should be pushing to educate our children in the humanities to cultivate empathy and compassion, not just STEM.
